Definition
What a WMS is and why the ERP warehouse module does not cover it
A WMS (Warehouse Management System), known in Spain as an SGA, is the software that manages the physical operation of the warehouse: exactly where each pallet is located, which route the picker should follow to prepare an order in the best way, how incoming goods are received and put away, and how outgoing goods are checked.
The warehouse module of an ERP usually covers the accounting and commercial side (how many units there are), but not the physical dimension. For medium and large warehouses, where dozens or hundreds of orders are prepared every day, or where batch/serial traceability is critical, a WMS is what separates “having stock” from “having organised, profitable stock”.
JobersSGA connects natively to the Jobers ERP and runs on industrial radio frequency terminals or Android smartphones, with barcodes and real-time data.
Use cases
Warehouses that use JobersSGA
Heavy materials warehouses
Cement, bricks, aggregates, steel. Locations by zone, picking optimised by proximity and weight.
Ceramics warehouses with shades and calibres
Stock by shade, calibre and face. The picker sees exactly which pallet to take so the job site looks uniform.
Hardware stores with thousands of SKUs
Large catalogues with locations by range. RF-guided picking, no searching along the shelves.
Logistics for manufacturers
Receipt of finished production, automatic put-away, dispatch to customers with outbound verification.
Distributors with many daily orders
Simultaneous picking of several orders, route optimisation inside the warehouse, scan validation.
Batch and serial number traceability
Products subject to CE marking, batches with expiry dates or origin regulations. End-to-end traceability.
